pick 10 of your favorite films and put quotes up for people to guess:

apologies if any of them are inaccurate as I couldn't find all of them online!

1. I am an aging pillock in the autumn of my years.
2. I'll find him for three, but I'll catch him, and kill him, for ten.
3. Quite an experience to live in fear, isn't it?
4. Those giraffes you sold me, they won't mate. They just walk around, eating, and not mating. You sold me... queer giraffes. I want my money back.
5. In the place of a Dark Lord you would have a Queen! Not dark but beautiful and terrible as the Morn! Treacherous as the Seas! Stronger than the foundations of the Earth! All shall love me and despair!
6. I don't care if you like us, 'cause we don't like you. You're a bad person with an ugly heart, and we don't give a flying fuck what you think!
7. You mean, you'll put down your rock and I'll put down my sword, and we'll try and kill each other like civilized people?
8. What a death! What a chance! What a surprise! My will has chosen life!
9. The only thing that bothered me was the actual killing. How does one do that? Hmmm? How does one kill a man? Well it's one thing to dream about it; very different when you, when you have to do it with your own hands.
10. So it would seem.

Out of interest - does the quote

"Carry on about your bussiness - I am a collector of unusal insects" mean anything to you? And if not I shall have to inflict the video upon you one day.

"Good lord - nothing else ever did"

And

It was Terry Gilliam that said that, he then went out and made Brazil because of it.

terry gilliam for all his mad creativity does not have taste... which is a good thing.

blade runner and jaws are still my equal favority films. AND I'M NOT GOING TO BE PRETENTIOUS AND PRETEND I PREFER THE DIRECTORS CUT! HA! SEE ME OSTRACISED! I liked the voice over AND THE LACK OF FUCKING UNICORNS!

of course you are. you just have to deduce it from what you know of me. am I the sort of orange that would put the answers to really obvious films or hard ones ;)

well considering i only watched 9 the other day, and 1 has taught you everytthin you wish to know, it seemed a little mean to cut the speculation short so quickly. didn't know the jaw's quote and i needed prompting for the romy and michelle one.

oh, and in answer to your question: you're the kind of person who picks their actual ten favourite films (irrespective of how obscure) and then picks quotes that are more obscure for the ones you believe people should find easy (i.e. 2) and less obscure for the hard ones (i.e. 1).

Date: 2006-07-25 02:07 pm (UTC)
From: [identity profile] sarah-orange.livejournal.com
indeed rather shocked only you have got no.1 I suppose I should have put something ~really~ obvious like 'dolly! dolly you've got a willy!'

and still no one gets no 8. I may have to give clues or a second quote.

That was a kind of instinctive guess - I haven't seen Amadeus since it came out in the cinema. The mind is a funny thing.
