although starting the interview in the toilets and someone coming in and washing their cups was not good. I had to run when she went into a cubicle - that would have been the icing on the cake having someone weeing loudly as I'm talking about goths.
I pointed out that their activity was in no way related to them being goths, it was just that as goths it was easier to take it out of the house as it wouldn't really make an awful lot of difference to the abuse they recieve on a daily basis. I also did a brief what is goth - I mentioned that it never used to be about clothes - in the early 80s goths were all about scruffy black jeans and t-shirts but in recent years the clothes seem to have become more important than the music.
am still shaking.
EDIT. oh god there's more. they're sending another presenter over in an hour or so to interview me in person about goth for something that's going out about 5. eeeeeeeeek!

Seriously, be careful, never forget that the media regard ratings / sales as more important than ethics, honesty, or telling the truth. But well done for speaking up, I'm sure you'll do rather better than some of the reactionary stuff that comes up.
