goodness gracious great balls of fire!

I'm going to curry hell for making a beef meatball balti last night. I was hungover and the meatballs needed eating. that's my excuse and I'm sticking to it. I had it with bread to make things even more wrong :P

that was a very tiring weekend. I was busy with club stuff on friday and saturday was hectic - I had to go the the club to make aftershow flyers then I met up with Beckie and Manda for a couple of pints before the fetish faire. I do like the room with the chesterfields in Mission...

back home for a bath and plenty of time to prepare for the ball. just as well as it took me nearly an hour to get my false eyelashes on (I had to give up on the first pair) I have no idea how people manage to do this regularly - I kept getting one wonky! I suspect I need more practice. beckie had a better idea by buying half width ones I think.

Headed off to Santiago for Emma's 30th with Big Daz for an hour before we tottered down to the Loft (well I tottered and Daz lurched) I was in full-on drag queen mode (apart from my eyebrows which were hidden by my ridiculous tranny wig) and looked like the unholy child of bet lynch and a anglo bubbly.

the fetish ball was bafflingly full - lots of mad hatters and red queens - not so many alices :D We stayed upstairs for the fashion shows - I missed them last year and wanted to see them as Amy and Katie had spent so long choreographing them - they were very impressive :D took Daz down to the chill out room as my feet were starting to hurt and there was seating down there - bumped into random_redhead and angelkitty101 - both looking ravishing in latex (I spurned latex for my pvc doll dress and j-design corset) I spent most of the rest of the night down there chatting to various people. I popped up to show someone the dungeon (might have been beckie...) then managed to catch amy and katie's routine and the disturbing routine by sybian v. Kitty van Ghoul's stapling was very impressive - boy does she have some pain threshold. I think everyone got shakey hands tying bows onto her staples! noticed the photographer's queue had gone so I got him to take my photo - no idea where you can get a copy from. I got really tired about 2am and started dozing off. woke up about 2:45 in time to hand out flyers at the door.

it took an age to get a taxi to the club. a painful age as my feet were really grumbling by this point. got in noticed that there were a few juvie people left who were messing round a bit but after talking to them for a bit I realised they were harmless and really nice :) we had 2 cds I'd done (it was a no dj night) and 2 more ambient ones that Kieran had done. The aftershow crowd didn't really want the ambient ones as they were feeling dancy so we played both cds through. I then played a couple of tracks from the other cd and realised they weren't going down so well so switched back to the first cd again. one girl did come up and complain when ebeneezer goode came on *again* but I think it's just that song that people object to cos they carried on dancing to the rest of the cd. I even snuck in haujobbs cover version of smack my bitch up :D we kicked out about 6:30 as the juvie kids were asleep in the corner. I'd got my second wind when we'd hit the club but that was fading fast. the journey from the taxi to the house barefoot was *incredibly* painful due to the texture of the co-op car park.

think I went straight to bed and woke up at 2 with a pounding headache which paracetamol wouldn't kill. slept through it mostly til about 5 when I got up and took ibuprofen which finally killed it - slept on the sofa for a bit then woke up enough to play wow - my brain wasn't capable of doing anything more complex. The ball was interesting and full of interesting people for my inner people-watcher. I *really* enjoyed the afterparty though :D

am feeling more alive today but boy my balls are on fire!
