from this saturday we're going to open on a saturday afternoon in a pubby fashion. and in a couple of weeks on sundays too. we will also be letting a small number of stalls to people who want them (no more than 4 at a time or we qualify as a market and need to pay for market licensing).
we will be open from 2pm till Substance opening time (9pm) and entry is free. we'll have the lights higher and the music (dj'd from the creative zen that hasn't arrived yet - damn you dabs!!!) lowered to background level. There will be tea and coffee and biscuits available (although no proper food yet as we need to finish painting the kitchen and apply for a food license which needs about 2 weeks warning)
this is an excellent opportunity to pop in for a quiet pint/cuppa during the rigours of an afternoon's shopping!
I'm quite excited about this for a number of reasons
1. stalls from 2-6pm - we have claire(sacharine_rose) and geof(fetishman) for the first one and should be getting a stall (maybe two) from hellraiser for the next one
2. the music - we'll get to play music you don't hear in clubs because its not dancing music. we can mix things like godspeed in with everything else. woo. and all those really nice songs by bands that you never hear while out like green and grey or something I can never have. plus being a 30gb mp3 player we should be able to have a whole pile of good stuff on there.
3. I spend almost all of saturday afternoon down there pottering about - it'd be nice to do that with other people there too!
And until we get snacky food sorted properly there'll be no objection to people bringing food in they've bought elsewhere so bring in yer sandwiches and steak bakes. oooo we should do pot noodles - that doesn't count as cooking!
