A weekend by the sea. apparently...
Apr. 27th, 2005 01:16 pmhere's my quick whitby-a-thon:
thursday - got there just before 8 had fish and chips and headed to creamy at the met. A mostly pleasant evening once we'd got nikky smiling again. Nice to see spider out and about - suitably admonished him though for the worry.
friday - went to the spa, bumped into people, bought a daft goth skirt and persuaded jen to buy an ace waspie from pinky's stall. went to the arcades. evening was lovely once we'd slogged there (the new cottage is even further away than the old one) nice to catch up with the comedy double act that is luch and paul. (
darkstones) enjoyed voltaire. ladyboy was there. how odd.
saturday - hmm still no hangover - looked at the sea, met people, arcade again, ate at resolution, watched dr who, dressed up and managed to make it to the spa before the queue kicked in. queen adreena seemed good as did in the nursery who I'd never even heard of before. poor jo looked so stressed about the one in one out thing on the doors - apparently she only found out things were changing on the friday and had no time to get it sorted back to normal. poot!
sunday - lunch at the magpie. huge great big fishy lunch at that (will lee, tim, jen, julie, geof, matt and kate) pootled up to the granby (via a pair of mad fish boots) and gathered people for football. football was ace and we lost 4(or 5) - 1. this is of course the best sort of result. I muchly enjoyed shouting all manner of insults at the lads and came up with the theory that they were doing badly cos no of them were admitting they were goths and so therefore could not possibly be on the goth team. everyone wore the bear ears. you may have seen ian's photos and thought that quantity of ear-wearing was impressive but no, it got far worse, we even managed to get some of the old folks who are connected with whitby fc to wear them (they were getting jealous so we let them have a go) ace. evil plans abound. after further drinking we ended up at alessi's for italian food (jo had chips on her pizza - apparently it's very cosmopolitan) and then shuffled to the shambles for last orders. best day of the week.
woke up feeling ill on the monday and had tuesday off sick and am now back in the hussle and bustle of database marketing central. whiby blues didn't seem so prevalent as I had mr geof with me. good plan.
anyone quizzing tonight?
