the Lamenting of my Liver
Feb. 18th, 2009 11:19 amHello Peeps
Having had a remarkably productive morning at work (for me) I thought I'd have a brief slacklet.
the world of the orange is mostly good - if a little tinged with a combination of can't be arsed, toothache and a hurty foot.
Had a very medicinal night in with young Fuzzlington on Friday eating Gyros and watching 'Walk the Line' - a great film - not tearjearky like I'd feared. Managed to resist digging out my Johnny Cash album that has the video to 'Hurt' on it as that *is* tearjearky and would have set me off. Popped into town on Saturday afternoon to get supplies and meet up with
brummie_ninja for a couple down at Metal Tearooms. Somehow on the way to buying a bottle of Sake for
defiance23 to give to
fetishman for his birthday I accidentally spent £55 on a brand new pair of red and black crocodile print Dr Martins. Oops. Gotta stop with that!
Later on much fur fabric was donned and Fuzzy created a giant axe out tinfoil and cardboard. The two of us got a train to town for
selectnone's 30th do at Mook whilst
cloneboy and Liz sensibly headed straight to Geof's party. We garnered many titters on our journey and thankfully the bouncers at Mook let us in despite the weapon ;) Room was nice and the music was ace - was lovely to see
octopoid_horror down from edinburgh,
pyropaws from Aberdeen,
miss_corinne up from Birmingham and to catch up with Neal's colleagues again. Nommed down all the deep fried snacks I could get my hands on (Oh curly fries - let me count the ways I love thee!) Unfortunately we had to leave to get the 11:20 train back. We bumped into Johnny in the Co-op whilst dodging the drunkards - it's like a jungle in there late at night - a drunken jungle. Pootled over to Mr Geof's house for some hard-drinking Barbarian action - there were marvellous costumes a-plenty. Then there was the obligatory Barbarian singstar. Marvellous. Johnny joined us for a bit too before Corinne (who I'd kidnapped mid party from my sofa - haha you're *never* safe) and I pootled home about 3
Was too hungover to do much but eat bacon and watch films on the Sunday (although not *quite* as bad as fuzzy...) so we ate bacon and watched Night at the Museum and Wanted. Both were enjoyable pap.
daevid is coming up on thursday night and staying till early tuesday (or late monday I suppose) as I'm at a Taekwondo course all weekend - two 5 hour days - I may die. So no Wendyhouse or Friday pub for me. I shall go out and attempt to drink away my pain at Black Sheep on Sunday instead :) Yeee!
