woo! I'm getting excited about the weekend. I have 5 extra people staying at mine - mango's going to either whore it the hell up or be very non-plussed.
the plan is now to just go the wrens on friday as it standard friday night procedure. should be there about 8:30. will probably meet up there on saturday too - around 9-9:30.
now I have to tidy the house and attempt to fix the bathroom light again.
after it being stuck on for several months I finally attempted to fix the light pull on saturday afternoon whilst it was light enough to see with the power off. of course the thing sproinged into a 1000 pieces and one of the screws disappeared. by the time I'd given up trying to find the screw and bought a new fitting it was dark so I gave up til sunday. on sunday I ascertained that there was no way in hell the new fitting was going up without a LOT of effort (it was bigger than the old one, the wires into the old one were almost certainly too short to reach the new one's terminals, and it was a one way when in fact my bedroom light carried on off it so I'd need a two way. thwarted. so I found the missing screw eventually then realised one of the components in the old fitting was broken. thankfully the basic internal working of the pull lightswitch hasn't actually changed that much in the last 30 years so I could pilfer one of the bits from the new fitting for the old fitting. AN HOUR AND A HALF after I started I managed get it back up and clicking, turned the power on and everything was peachy. apart from the bulb stopped coming on last night. BAH! and grrrr! much as candlelit baths are very pleasant occasionally as a treat it's a bit of an arse to have to have them.
