pussycat pussycat where have you been...

sarah_orangeJohnny gave me a lift to Kirkstall yesterday to pick up the wee puddy cat.
When we got home I let him out of the box and he slunk off behind the sofa - where he resolutely remained despite mine and Johnny's attempts at enticing him out with his toy mouse.
Figured it'd be best to leave him to his own devices for a bit so me and Al watched last week's Dr Who - in retrospect Dr Who is probably not the best way of getting things out from behind a sofa :) so we decided to leave the living room and see if he went for an explore by himself. A couple of hours and various visits downstairs later and he was still behind the sofa. gave up and moved the sofa out and he slunk off to the kitchen in the cellar for a poke about there. an hour or so later I looked for him and he was sitting behind the washing machine. Al and I could stroke him from there and he didn't seem jumpy or anything so I left him for a bit longer. at about 1:30am I went down and managed to coax him out of his hiding place and after a few minutes of slinking around trying to find somewhere else to hide the finally started sniffing round me and letting me stroke him. yay. he walked over me a bit and even sat on my lap. phew! then he proceded to follow me round the kitchen meowing occasionally. excellent. I left him on a pillow in the kitchen and went to bed.
of course this morning he was hiding behind the chair in the bay window. pfft! cats! :)
and to complicate things my brain keeps calling him mango. it's not a bad name for a cat - there used to be another cat called mango on the street many years ago. I'm holding off giving him any name till he's been round for a while.

lindabird last night! arse! I felt really bad about dragging them over to hyde park for no reason :( rescheduled for friday and actually put in my phone's reminder section.
Dr Russel (who hyde parkites and former hyde parkites may be alarmed to hear has taken all the star trek stuff down from his office :( ) has arranged for me to get an x-ray of my back to check that the nerve spaces haven't become obstructed and given me co-codomol as it's more of a muscle relaxant than the other tablets I was on incase it's tendons that are causing the problem. gotta ring up in the morning to arrange the x-ray itself. thumb still resolutely numb.
