OOPS!

I just did my first ever 'reply to all' bobo.

turns out our place don't pay for or even contribute to our xmas do.  tight bastards.  thankfully I didn't quite express it like this to the person who's organising the do - and EVERY other member of staff in the huddersfield office - including the big wigs.  I did how ever point out:

"have to admit I’m a tad surprised the company don’t pay for/contribute to the xmas do - this is pretty unusual!"

oopsie.

so.  is it unusual?  everywhere I've ever worked has ~at least~ contributed.

so. how big is your place of work and does it pay for or contribute to your xmas do.  are the do's opulent?
