can anyone find an appropriate email address for sending compliments to the bbc about programs? I've had quite a look on their site and I can only find a submission form - not much use as I wanted to put the email address up here and get everyone on my friend's list who enjoyed jerry springer the opera to contact them and say so and then to post on their lj to get their friends to do it and so on.

it was ace.

please do - and pass it on.

here's what I wrote, hardly erudite but hey I'm no english graduate and am notoriously bad with words!

First of all congratulations to the BBC for not bowing to pressure from the perspectively challenged and actually showing this piece. It was excellent - I was pleasantly suprised at the quality of the production - it was a properly orchestrated opera and not just a musical.
I'm distressed to hear so many complaints from bandwagon jumping idiots - many of which have obviously not only not seen the opera but have also totally mis-understood the subject matter. I was infact very amused to read one complaint about the BBC funding 'this american rubbish' when it is a sucessful west-end show written by 2 British people.
And more to the point - it's a work of fiction - no one's saying Jerry Springer actually got shot, descended into the firey depths and claims that Jesus told him he was gay.
Fiction...
Perhaps if some of these protesters spent more time reading a dictionary and less moralising at people who are capable of making their own descisions what to watch, then they might begin understand the concept of fiction a little better.
Once again a laudable descision by the corperation which has led to me watching an opera again after many years of absinence. It even had a Valkyrie!
