the one thing worse than being bored at work is not having a clue how to do stuff that people expect you to do and not even having enough grounding to really know where to start or where to find out. I have no training or actual experience in SAP Installation and Configuration - so we have consultants coming in to do the upgrade and pass on info. So why, given they're now going to a week late, do the guys upstairs want me to do all the preparatory work and pre-upgrade upgrades - erm... hello - no idea how - er that's why we have the consultants coming in... given the amount of money they're paying these guys to come in and do the work why on earth would they want me rampaging through the system with no fucking clue beforehand?
hello -I'm a DBA not a SAP person! helloooooooo!

gah. today is not sitting well with me. distractions welcomed.

Ooow an Oracle D(oes) B(ugger) A(ll), I is impressed.
SQL Server is not too bad (its not oracle or db2 though!) its just that every product that comes around it seems to be shite.
I'm mostly mysql myself, amuses me that it out performs SQL server so easily, oh and occasional MS Access (not that it's a db, it's an excel spreadsheet with attitude)

Have a listen when you get home. It's hilarious. It's by Group X... they make a lot of really crazy songs with insane lyrics.

SAP is bloody awful - it's a terrible system full of glitches which my bosses seem to think is amazing. The fools.

I work on JDE, but from what I'm hearing from all the consultants SAP is the system to be on. Some major consultancies are getting rid of their JDE people and/or retraining them on SAP.

I'm considering playing the waiting game until my company retrain me... might be a long wait!!!
