Will you let the fire die down soon?

bloody hell - in your room by depeche mode does wrong things to me. I need to listen to something altogether more wholesome and calm down.

In your room
Where time stands still
Or moves at your will
Will you let the morning come soon?
Or will you leave me lying here?
In your favourite darkness
Your favourite half-light
Your favourite consciousness
Your favourite slave

In your room
Where souls disappear
Only you exist here
Will you lead me to your armchair?
Or leave me lying here?
Your favourite innocence
Your favourite prize
Your favourite smile
Your favourite slave

I'm hanging on your words
Living on your breath
Feeling with your skin
Will I always be here?

In your room
Your burning eyes
Cause flames to arise
Will you let the fire die down soon?
Or will I always be here?
Your favourite passion
Your favourite game
Your favourite mirror
Your favourite slave

I'm hanging on your words
Living on your breath
Feeling with your skin
Will I always be here?

That avatar is decidely attention grabbing, fortunately I can resist, the red-blooded males who frequent your LJ might be dramatically more *ahem* effected by it however.

don't worry I'm only going to use it for special occasions! and I will use it only in the name of good!

I'll accept this as a request for Wendy House on Saturday then...

the album version is the best but doesn't really work in clubs - not sure any of them do. they all work quite well in darkened rooms though...

:D

The Jeep Mix is pretty dancefloor friendly.

[identity profile] sarah-orange.livejournal.com 2007-01-16 09:17 am (UTC)(link)
not sure I've heard that one. I'm never really a fan of remixes because my head is so programmed to the original.

[identity profile] attack-monkey.livejournal.com 2007-01-16 09:21 am (UTC)(link)
I have it, I'll bring it down on saturday afternoon for you to listen to.

Bad orange! Of course their 'master and servant' works pretty well too. I used to favour DJing with the 12" version.... 'cause it has like 2 minutes of 'treat me like a dog, like a dog, like a dog.....'. Shouldn't have been out for beer tonight!!!!!

Re: Ahem!

[identity profile] sarah-orange.livejournal.com 2007-01-16 12:59 am (UTC)(link)
hmm... master and servant is a little blatant for me - it doesn't quite ooze sticky sensuality in quite the same way that in your room does - you can almost see the patten on the curtains if you listen to it hard enough.

argh - I'm off again - quick - make with the wholesome
*puts on wake me up before you go go by wham*

Gotta love the Mode.

In that CD case of course there is secret artwork - 'Dessous'.

[identity profile] sarah-orange.livejournal.com 2007-01-16 09:16 am (UTC)(link)

don't make me hunt out the cd case (which I must have but suddenly can't recall seeing in years)

I have the single (with the two mixes by garbage). I prefer the album version, yeah, but the single has an absolutely storming live version of "never let me down again" which I can mp3 up.

Ms Cl'varge.

They released the film of the Devotion tour last year, which Anton Corbijn directed. Its really good, but you can see how Gahan got hooked on the schmack. He's out in front of the rest of the band on his own, with a crowd of mad spaniards worshipping him. Bound to go to your head :)

[identity profile] sarah-orange.livejournal.com 2007-01-16 12:13 pm (UTC)(link)
never let me down again is my second favorite depeche mode song - mainly from seeing them live on the music for the masses tour and again on the violator tour - it was the stand out track on both - he's such a remarkable frontman.

cry? I hope it's tears of passion, beauty and love not tears of loss and sadness!
