Yargle! and GRONK!
Aug. 12th, 2009 10:11 amI am a tired dinosaur today. I really really tried to get in bed before 12:45 last night - I looked at the clock and it was 11:30 and I thought 'I'll just finish this then go to bed'... bah!

eddy_ came up for Friday Flock, which was surprisingly busy and loadsa fun. I took advantage of feeling no obligation to see the bands to have a more relaxed evening and to head to the wrens first to catch up with dr_misrule as she was out for birthday drinks. Poor Eddy had food coma (well he did order a portion of cheesy wedges to go with his already giant mixed souvlaki) and kept falling asleep in the club. somehow we managed to make it to the end though - I think this was due to the curative power of utah saints and KLF
Saturday saw a non-swineflu-ladendaevid arriving and a trip to morrisons to purchase foods for Eddy's blated birthday celebrations (poor thing spent his actual birthday in a cruise liner visiting Japan, Korea and China) as he had some miracle berry tablets we had to keep an eye open for sharp and bitter foods too. spent a fortune and completely over-catered as usual given there were only 5 of us for berries and 12 of us afterwards!
berries were interesting - tomatoes were sweet. lemon and limes tasted like lemonade and limeade. pickled eggs tasted like japanese rolled omelettes etc. interesting stuff! afterwards the other guests arrived and we feasted on mussels, champignon a la grecque and home made potato and pasta salads along with dips, cheese and other goodies. lil bought samubuca. I crashed and burned about midnight (In contrast to Eddy) but lil wouldn't let me go to bed for half an hour - the cruelty! apparently they carried on til 3:30 and the singstar came out. Hope Lil managed to get up in time for her parents 9am visit (what kind of cruel person arrives at 9am on a sunday!?!)
Sunday was subdued - we tidied up then I left the boys in the house and went to a colleagues wedding in pontefract. my hangover was quelled by further drinking and I didn't leave till 22:30 - thankfully one of my colleague's girlfriend's gave me a lift home.
This week I have a half day on Friday as my Dad and his girlfriend Sue are visiting. This means frantic house cleaning before they arrive (although not as frantic as when fuzzy's parents came cos I don't care *that* much - Dad can bugger off if he thinks he can get away with berating me for household stuff when I'm 38! - doubt he'd dare :P ) followed by an evening at Fairuz Lebanese restaurant. Handily Daevid is arriving on Thursday night so can help with the household chores ;-)
Saturday afternoon is Taekwondo Fun Day! an event for the kids with games and snacky food. I have offered to attempt to cook cupcakes. I suck at cakes - I may have to get a mixture. want to do tkd decorations though :D in the evening it's taekwondo fun day mkII at Cat's house with Cocktails and no kids :D I predict a hangover on sunday. which is probably bad as I'm DJING AT BLACK SHEEP that night. I *will* hassle you to attend! I suppose this brings a terribly n00b question - if I buy stuff on i-tunes it's all DRMy isn't it - what does this actually mean - does it mean I couldn't burn it to a CD? I want to get at least Industrial Bitch by Uberbyte and possibly some other stuff.
