the weekend
Jun. 1st, 2009 04:02 pmWe had a surprising number of pre-party visitors on Friday night - tried to get them all there for 8 so we could eat, drink, be merry and go to bed at a reasonable hour but somehow that failed just a little bit! ![[livejournal.com profile]](https://www.dreamwidth.org/img/external/lj-userinfo.gif)
eddy_, twokan and tawdryfilth's journey from birmingham (with Aud on Frank's pillion) seemed so fraught with obstacles that I'm surprised they made it up at all. Having to return for forgotten stuff, Frank's mirror falling off hitting Audrey in the knee and then later when Eddy's knees needed a bit of TLC Frank's bike wouldn't start up again. Eventually all sorted and they turned up about 10 and food was finally ordered, alcamafrol was moderately consumed and Stardust watched.
Due to tidying earlier in the week and getting up bright and early on Saturday the party preparations didn't seem to over-run for once. D and I went off to morrisons where I somehow spent £134 (and only £30 of that on booze) although there was some household cleaning products and personal shopping in there - but even so - struth I can over-spend!?
Giant pizza slice was constructed along with giant after 8 mint, giant cheese and pineapple on sticks and giant ham sandwich. I felt suitably hobbit-sized. So easily did we sort everything out that I even had time for a pre-party bath! bonza! anyhoo here are the party highlights in bullet-point form:
given how hazy my memory is of most of the night I'm pretty impressed I remembered that many points - I'm sure other people can fill in the gaps. Party seemed to go marvellously although there were a few lacking Leeds faces - then again I'm not sure where we'd have put them and I think most people in Leeds have been warming our house since October!
Yesterday was a subdued affair - by the time I'd gotten up for the second time the house was tidy then I slept through Kung Fu Panda - the final guests left about 9ish after we'd watched Hot Fuzz.

- Tim Sinister getting thrown out of the party, twice :P
- Fuzzy's personalised giant whiskey
- cakes!
- the brightest vomit ever! in the bucket of fishtank gravel - MIDGE!!
- Baz's remarkably tasty treats - who knew he could cook?
- people from all over the country - possibly even outnumbering the Leeds' people
