what a lovely weekend!
( a lengthy and possibly pretentious ramble about the marvellous a silver mount zion )
tromped over to york on saturday afternoon and we went to the evil eye lounge for geof's friend heidi's leaving do - cocktail-tastic - unfortunately creamy cocktail-tastic - I think I drank my own bodyweight in alcoholic lard. oops. must diet after xmas. some of us staggered back to geof's for takeaway and wine. delightful evening all in all.
haulled our lardy arses out of bed at about 4 something and ate fish and chips and pickled eggs whilst watching the third harry potter film. I'd forgotten about posh titty birds covered in ferrets. ace. was going to head back to leeds when geof's housemate mark suggested we watch the extended version of LOTR3. who was I to disagree? - i'd already vowed not to buy it till after xmas so this'd be my one chance till then. it was of course excellent - all 4 hours of it - the restored saruman scenes are excellent - shame they didn't kill any of the 5 (yes I counted this time) false endings tho - bloody hobbits. as the 2 previous films my big gripe was that many of the tiny bits (often less than 20s long) they cut out went a long way to making the actions of the characters make more sense...
last night I completely failed to clean the house. damn. this lunchtime though I've purchased lots of sweeties, crisps, twiglets, balloons and party poppers for tomorrow night. bonza!
