Only in the field of research academia I'm afraid so I'm not sure how much use that will be. I've done press releases / short articles / meetings / international conferences, the usual stuff etc but only in research....

Well. My friend Andrew works for Chocolate PR in Leeds on a very part time basis whilst doing his degree, but he does want more work in this field so may be interested.. he doesnt have a HUGE amount of experience but is enthusiastic, a busybody, has far too much time on his hands and does have a few contacts from work etc.. I could ask him about it if you wish...

On a lower level, if you need dogsbodies to flyer etc at a later date, I along with several other 3rd year mates could do with any financial opportunities available! And would all love to support the re-opening of said venue.

hmm interesting. we don't have much spare cash at the mo so we can't afford to offer much for such services. indeed if I find someone who's willing to handle the pr side for favours I'll go with them

Oh and something that didnt occur to me last night..

My housemate Matt Wheatcroft is Head of Publicity at Leeds student radio. As they have an FM licence right now may be handy to get something on there. They have close ties with the student paper as well which gets read quite widely... so if you want to get us dirty student types scumming up your establishment you can email him on matttheween@hotmail.com.

we need someone to find out about the radio, mags, newspapers, internet sites etc that we need to contact. and to write a couple of press releases.

i used to run a goth PR/networking effort
Radio-talk to Dj Echo for his manchester based radio show and links, also i beleive squirrel had some links with hull student radio goth night.
Steve-rBN has his own on line station on live365 and there are several other alt stations there
Why not talk to joel from action direct to see if he would mind putting something out on his mailing list for you? Most alt mags etc kerrang and such are opent o approach and accept reveiws (and perhaps kerrang radio in brum would do free advertising of new night in exchange for 2 club entry and return tickets for train....all tax reclaimable perhaps running it as a competion proze-Radio Aire would prob do same and i have a colleague whos girlfriend works there also)
Let me know what sort of thing you're looking at and ill pick my brains on whio and hows
