Hi Folks. Where was I?
Felt really ill at work on monday - brad's concerned I may be developing an ulcer. bleh. got home to find beckie was still at mine and she'd tidied up. there are 29 empty alcamafrol bottles on the piano, this is not including the shedload that dawn chucked out on friday morning. we had a booze free night watching shaun of the dead and equilibrium with bug and ian. traded beckie for brad and alex at one point. good swap! hehe.
still felt uncomfortable and ickky on tuesday. bleh bleh. went to taekwondo and made the decision not to take the grading on the 2nd of october. am slightly upset as this is the first one I've not taken (they're every 3 months) and it seems like an admission of defeat. but as adam pointed out I probably won't be ready for the black belt grading in the spring (and may infact be in japan for it) as there are a lot of things you have to have done before they let you take it. for a start I need to go on a refereeing course and referee 2 competition matches. don't like the idea of that at all. so seeing as its likely to be next september before I take my black belt then I may as well not rush getting the black tag. bleh. still feels weird. waaa! the upside is I might have a couple of people to grade with rather than doing it on my own.
ok I suppose its time I got it all sorted. here's the outline plan:
party starts 7:30ish with the plan of having the food set up for 8ish. anyone bringing food who wants to turn up earlier is welcome to. anyone wanting to turn up early to generally help tidy, organise, cook, destress the orange is also welcome to. I'd rather general party goers didn't turn up early as I'll be bustling round and don't want to feel I'm not being a good host.
this is a standard orange two party affair. civilised till about 11 and less civilised afterwards. if people are just up for getting pissed and jumping around I'd rather they came along later as it's annoying to have to pick vomit out of the guacamole :)
right. cooking. so far I have:
normal (not hot cos its all about the flavour not the heat baby!) chilli - me
veg/vegan chilli - ian
guacamole - julie
scarey pancakes - tim
general canapage - angie
puddingy stuff - tinks
I'll also provide rice, flour tortillas, grated cheese and sour cream.
could do with some of the following:
chicken enchilladas
something with a silly name like burritos or chimichangas
nachos (with salsa and refried beans woo!)
tacos with various shite to put in them.
so if anyone wants to dib any of the above then say so or if you have something else you want to make that's appropriate let me know.
on the drinks front I'm going to be making some tequilla sunrise. if anyone wants to organise margheritas I'd be very grateful.
