Bugger. The Manchester one clashes with The Mission's farewell gigs in London.

[identity profile] sarah-orange.livejournal.com 2008-01-18 09:36 am (UTC)(link)
yeah - the ones I'd want to go to of the mission ones would be the gods own medicine or children one (thursday and friday) why on earth they put carved in sand, the worst album by far, on the day that's easiest to get to I just can't work out.

it's all academic though as I can't afford to go down to london just for a gig - that involves hotels and stuff - I can barely afford to go to manchester and the trains run all night!

Okay Ms Orange. Where do I buy a ticket?

[identity profile] sarah-orange.livejournal.com 2008-01-18 12:39 pm (UTC)(link)
I'll see if jen wants to come then I'll get all of them if you want.

[identity profile] cyberspice.livejournal.com 2008-01-18 12:45 pm (UTC)(link)
Kewl. I'll put aside the cash to give to you next time I see you.

We're going to the Thursday one (I know someone who's going to all four!), have a room booked at a travel-lodge in the East End. The room is actually booked for 3 (makes sense to always book for full occupancy, just in case a mate decides to come). So, unless Faye's arranged something (would have to check) you could possibly share with us. We're travelling by train though, I fancy trying Grand Central from York, which is far from the cheapest, but if you got advance purchase on NXEC, you could probably get down and back for 20 quid and meet us there?

Just a thought.

£30 after fees, hm...

[identity profile] sarah-orange.livejournal.com 2008-01-18 02:27 pm (UTC)(link)
it is - that's the god's own medicine one isn't it..? hmmm. frankly I'd have prefered children then again I saw them about 6-8 times around the children and carved in sand time (at the NEC when they were a big enough band to fill it!)

tempting tempting! I'd have to use another precious day of holiday for the friday but it's definitely tempting... give me a couple of days to think. how much would the room be?

[identity profile] sarah-orange.livejournal.com 2008-01-18 02:27 pm (UTC)(link)
the fees on the site I saw were £3 booking and £1.50 postage

[identity profile] http://users.livejournal.com/_pyromancer_/ 2008-01-18 02:44 pm (UTC)(link)
We're actually there Thurs and Fri, so if you wanted to do the Fri night, that'd be possible.
The room only cost me 30 quid a night, so probably a tenner - or I'll trade you it for a wetlook photoset on the beach at Whitby! [g]

friday clashes with siouxsie...

bloody goth scheduling...

AND HAVE YOU FELT THE TEMPERATURE OF THE NORTH SEA?!

[identity profile] icklekitty.livejournal.com 2008-01-18 03:19 pm (UTC)(link)
London is a bit more expensive than manchester

[identity profile] sarah-orange.livejournal.com 2008-01-18 03:38 pm (UTC)(link)
yeah - lucky you! :P

Carved in Sand - Deliverance is still cool in an, 'actually, no it's awful but I still like it and am ashamed' way. Melt - sexiest Banshees song ever (although 'Trust In Me' comes close)

[identity profile] sarah-orange.livejournal.com 2008-01-18 07:09 pm (UTC)(link)
deliverance is a good enough song but not good enough to make up for the travesty that is butterfly on a wheel or into the blue.

frankly dancing barefoot and like a hurricane are my faves and they're on wake :D

Scheduling: Indeed - whoever arranged this particular foul-up wants chucking in the North Sea on the coldest day of the year.

North Sea: Well, I was meaning at the WGW in April, when, if it's anything like last year, we'll be having a brief few weeks of blazing sunshine and soaring tempratures just before the 'Summer' rain and flood season gets properly under way! :-)

ooohhh tempting but it clashes with Gary Numan's 50th birthday/30th anniversary tour.
