Hey sports injury expert people (clearly there are thousands of you on my friend's list :P ). I had a bit of a shin/knee interface whilst sparring at taekwondo on thursday which left me with a large lump on the right side of my left shin. it's pretty large - you could see it when I was wearing tights on saturday night. it's just starting to bruise a bit now so I figured it's on the road to recovery and was giving it a bit of a gentle prod last night (as I can actually touch it now without yelping) when I made the frankly disturbing discovery that an area about 4 inches long by 3 inches on the left hand side of the shin is completely numb! NUMB! it's not even the same side of the shin bone as the injury! I'm hoping it's just a temporary thing caused by the swelling on the other side pressing on a nerve. Or something. Gra! Don't let it be permanent! I already have two other permanent numb bits on the left side of my body*! I don't want it to be contagious!
argh. not sure what my question is. err perhaps "am I likely to die of it?"
*a line up my arm from my thumb and half of one of toes - woe *is* me :P
