I had just started sixth form at King Edward VI Handworth School (a school I still love to this day) studying Maths, Further Maths, Biology, Chemisty and General Studies at A-level, Electronics at A/O-level and Photography GCSE. I would much rather have done Physics than Chemistry (hence the electronics A/O) but it wouldn't quite fit my timetable. About a month in I my friend Lizzy and I also registered on an A-Level Art course at Sutton Coldfield College of HE (cheaty for her as she was also doing it at school). This annoyed my teachers somewhat but I figured I spent more time drawing than actually doing the home work for the other subjects so it wouldn't be a problem. I was also a green belt in Sakaido (possibly blue tag) a Taekwondo derived Martial Art that seems to only exist in Birmingham.

I was going out with Julian (just coming up to a the first anniversary) and had just started the final year of my civil engineering degree. I'd had a year out in the middle working as a civil engineer and retaken my second year exams. I was living on Chestnut avenue with Johnny, Kim, Graeme and Malcom and possibly ergot and mushroom. these were generally happy days.

Having swapped to computing I was in my first year as a Database Programmer in Yeadon and was living on Wrangthorn Avenue with Johnny and Mr Angie (andwsogmm, occasionally Julian, Mushroom and Fenris) Boy was I getting fat! Just after her Royal leggingsness died I was on 15-1 in london - I remember the flowers outside of Harrods, being fat and a bit clueless. (and wearing the jumper you returned to me on tuesday Bridget!)

I had split up with Julian in the spring of 2002 and in August I started Taekwondo withfraoch. A combination of these things resulted in me losing 4 and a half stone. good stuff. although the damage to my knees is pretty much never going. I was working as System's manager in Guiseley and just discovering the ability to buy nice clothes (PVC) on the internet. This was the time of the pulling skirt - I still have it - old and shrivelled in my wardrobe - perhaps it's the pulling skirt of dorian gray or something... this is also when I became Sarah Orange due to needing a logon for E-bay and having trouble thinking of anything that wasn't taken.

We'd just opened the club. Things were just beginning to settle down but we were still on a very steep learning curve. I think we still are. I had fried off over a stone in stress in the 2 weeks around the opening.
So far this year I have...
re-entered the realm of the single and therefore have re-become scary. recovered from another broken bone. bought even more clothes. been rejected a couple of times. spent a remarkable quantity of my money at the club. danced a lot. drank even more. met some ace new people (bridget, arne, chris, george, bex.) Passed my black belt grading. Lost some weight. bought even more clothes. been very stressed.
Yesterday
I did some firefighting with a terrible hangover then I went to a vintage clothes fair and bought a coat that appears to be made from the mortal remains of an ewok. I then proceeded to the club, ordered my bar manager to take the week after next off and practiced my djing. There was an panic-making incident with a spider which really, really didn't help my pre-djing stagefright. managed not to drive everyone out of the club. woo!
Today
our 4 node SQL server cluster is down to one node - it's been dying one node at a time for a while and microsoft have been completely useless. we're now entering disaster recover ready mode. not good. tonight is brings a meeting with Belle about using her troupe for the next burlesque then dinner and tv watching with Neal (moved from wednesday so I can go to HARD ROCK!)
Tomorrow
nothing of note really. Taekwondo is likely to be the highlight. unless that last node dies.
