Bloody Hell. Would be an accurate description of Huddersfield recently...
Yesterday our sandwich van turned up nearly an hour later than normal. Turns out she'd been held up by there being 6 police cars and a full on armed response unit - about 10 officers with guns pointing at a van just down Leeds Road from us. There were lots more sirens - police and ambulances heading that way not long after.
Today PCWorld and our other office Tanfield House just up Leeds Road (i.e. I have to walk past it to get here) are all cordoned off - turns out someone's been stabbed to death somewhere around there. That's about 200m from our office.
Nice.
In other news I didn't manage to dodge the tonsilitis quite as well as I'd hoped. May have to go home at lunchtime. Boo to no sick pay. Neal and I were a real sight last night - him with his big snotty cold and me with my stupid tonsils - I made spicey pasta in an attempt to hurt the ill but it didn't work. I blame this plague on freshers. Bah. I probably shouldn't have snogged 3 people last weekend. (None of whom were freshers, she added, before people thought she was some sort of child molester)
