wow it's started again - I'm building an ark...
not really updated for ages have I? hmm... so what's occurring in orange land? I still have a numb thumb - I'm beginning to get used to the sensation and my arm's not uber painful anymore. I had an x-ray on friday which will take 10 days to get to my doctors apparently. odd. really? my doctors is about a mile away from the hospital are they using trained slugs to transport them? pah.
mango is settling in nicely - he's still skittish with noises but isn't hiding so much now - in fact he kinda follows me round the house. he's got the mushroom thing of being demanding if he can't see you - he'll sit on the stairs and meow loudly till you call his name then he'll come and find you. no mango I'm on the loo - please be quiet! I have to leave the bathroom door open a bit when I'm in the bath so he can wander in and out. he's spent a couple of nights at the foot of my bed and apart from being kicked a few times as I've forgotten he's there and a couple of occasions where he's run round the house and come back and pounced on my feet then he's been a fair amount more restful to have in the bedroom at night than fenris or mushroom were (fenris due to his frequent attempts to sleep on my head and mushroom due to him being the size of a dog and taking up the whole bed) I might let him out tonight - he's not really shown any interest in getting out so far and I imagine he'll scoot back in at the first noise.
the burlesque was fun. we made the place look really good with our bamboo screening and silly decor. the staging idea worked nicely and the seating/visibility was much better than last time even though we had about 40 more people in (think we had about 160 people in which is probably more than we had tickets for!) I had to knit my own grass skirt out of twine as fran didn't manage to get me one - I think it looked quite good all things considered - itched like hell though. I missed carrington's flaming cock which I'm disappointed about. Doktor Combover were very good and I had a good boogie with bex, bridgit and beth - the b ladies and kath. a success. was far too tired to go to link and rachel's party afterwards and went to sleep in my bodystocking. mmm bodystocking.
saturday was a washout - I was supposed to help geof move house but was pretty useless with my gammy toe and terrible hangover. also I managed to still have friday's disposable contact lenses in and managed to rub them both out and render myself blind. watched dr who - socialised for a further hour and then went home to bed. I was in bed by 9:30pm on a saturday night. how mad is that? and I still slept through till 11:30am the next day - that's 14 hours sleep (well I got up at midnight to lock the front gate and eat some cold pizza but hey) Sunday club was good - arne and chris - the galleon men from the pirate party, turned up and we had glenn presence for the first time in ages. plus I got the biggest serving of chicken pakoras ever - enough to feed loads to glenn and even save one for neal. nom nom nom.
today brings the joy of panic in the office as we had a powercut at the weekend and the spike when it returned managed to knock out loads of disks. none on my systems. hehe. and yes we do have a diesel generator - it always kicks in in test scenarios but seems to have been utterly useless on the last 2 actual power failures.
now back to my ark building.
