rows of houses all bearing down on me
Feb. 5th, 2007 11:35 amso what has the orange been up to? are you seated comfortably? then I'll begin.
Cooked tea for
selectnone on thursday and watched more boosh and mystery men from a comfortable ligging position. Ligtastic. Friday morning involved a trip to Otley to get injected in my foot. a relatively painless, if time-consuming, process. Back into Leeds to meet Neal again and head off to Tropical World. TROPICAL WORLD! WOO!
I can't fully express my love of tropical world! tamarins! butterflies! iguanas! fish! snakes! bats! woo! it just keeps giving! Checked out the cotton-topped tamarins in the outside cage. there was just one out and about but boy was he cute! what a grumpy little face! Spent ages pottering around looking at the beasties. Of particular note was the obligatory round of spot the iguana (took a fair while - she was hiding right at the back and I'd nearly given up) and a good while spent sitting by the amazonian tank as the catfish seemed to find us fascinating and kept snuffling past us. We failed to telepathically convince the sugarglider to jump off it's high perch and have a glide for us - the harder we tried the more it seemed to poo though. (hmm... might be useful info when dealing with constipated sugargliders eh?) Was disapointed that the golden lion tamarins were no-where to be seen. damn.
Came out and mooched around the gift shop (I bought lemurs for you Liam!) and spotted Jimmy Saville outside - Neal seemed to think that me and the staff were making it up so we went outside and he was by the tamarins. Celebtastic. erm. bought some fish food and went to look at the lemurs - i didn't even know there were lemurs there! Hoodlums. I think they wanted to eat us. it was a lemurgeddon* it was nice and sunny so we sat around and fed the fish for ages. I like koi. I need a koi pond. and a stately home. or a castle.
Friday flock was muchos good. plenty of boogying occurred. Adam's camera's flash was shockingly bright, his photos are here me and kath trundled back to mine and ate pringles. tsk!
Saturday was spent mostly being emo-orange, watching 18 episodes of Scrubs season 2 and some radiohead vids. Managed to pull myself together enough to make it to the wrens to meet
wsogmm and
petulant_seraph and head off to Imaginary Friends. excellent night if a little heavy on the petshop boys. and the same erasure track was played twice. but boogie tastic and there were a lot of people in by the time I left at 2am all boogied out.
Sunday involved more ligging, a visit from
fetishman (bearing the ramen ladels that complete my xmas present! woo! I'm ramen enabled now! ta hon) and a trip to the home at Salt's mill to hunt down a wedding present for matt and kate. That place is ace - I'd like to go back when we have more time - I didn't even realise there was an antiques section! and the cafe smelt lovely. Got back town and went for tapas at Sandinista! with Neal (yummy foods!) and then off to black sheep which I probably should have arrived at earlier as I had to get the curtains up and bean bags out. we were suffering slight plumbing problems - the merrion centre only fixed one of the 2 leaks so we had to re-arrange the seating to keep people from kicking the bucket as it were and the bloody glasswasher kept overflowing till I realised the drain/plug thing was full of goo and hair. nice. After that I had a most pleasant evening - neal even did an impromptu guest slot. I may have volunteered myself for a future one too. rar!
Got back to Neal's and realised we'd run out of Boosh! nooooooo! Gonna have to start making a concerted effort to get through Heroes now. Got to work and my nice new digital camera is here. excellent. snapz will be mine!
